She was predeceased by: her parents, Graham Hancock and Mossie Wilson Hancock; her husband J. H. "Red" Brown; and her siblings, Ruby Hammer, Beulah Hammer, Augusta "Gus" Gilliland, Linda Jones, Roy Hancock and Raeford Hancock.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rita B. Holt (Steve) of Bear Creek and Angie B. Fields (Buddy) of Goldston; her grandchildren, Beth Caviness (Jacob), Joshua Holt (Jean) and Amber Fields; her great grandchildren, Reid Caviness, Anna Claire Caviness, Sadie Holt and Miller Brown Holt; her sister Joyce Headen (Tommy) of Siler City; and her siblings-in-law, Mary Etta Brown of Siler City and Jimmy Jones of Pleasant Garden.
