He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Addison Garner and Lydia Anne Ritter Garner; his wife Katherine Delores Lambert Garner; his stepsons, Gary, Jerry, Terry and David Kidd; and his siblings, Era Shields, Lois Kidd, Willa Brooks, Nora Cox, Colon, Roland, Ed and Carl Garner.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Sharon Hill (Tony) of Robbins, Karen Watson (Benny) of Bear Creek and Tommy Kidd of Bennett; and his grandson Larry Saunders (Michaela). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Joyce-Brady Chapel (3833 Chatham St, Bennett, NC 27208). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Acorn Ridge Baptist Church (288 Acorn Ridge Rd, Robbins, NC 27325).
