He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cox and Annie Belle Phillips Cox; his wife Kathy Maness Cox; his brother Frank Cox; and his great-nephew Casey Jones.
He is survived by: his children, Vickey Cox Wright, Teresa Cox Smith (David) and Randy Cox; his siblings, Mary Joyce Auman (Dalton), Paulette Brechtel (Jack), Joleen Webster (Kenneth), Pete Cox (Sylvia) and Roy "Bud" Cox; his grandchildren, Leslie Smith, Ryne Smith (Kristen) and Amanda Smith; his great grandchildren, Mattie, Kamryne, Jamie, Rylane and Rynslee; and his close friend Joyce Deaton.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joyce-Brady Chapel (3833 Chatham St, Bennett, NC 27208). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Riverside Baptist Church (8127 Riverside Rd, Seagrove, NC 27341).
