He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Thomas Hosea and Zadie Byrd Barnes; his wife Blondell Lee Barnes; his children, Ronald Barnes (Donna) of Angier and Cindy McLamb (Marshall) of Benson; his grandchildren, Heather Godwin (James) of Benson and Leigh Ann Walker (Carson) of Angier; his great grandchildren, Peyton Godwin, Eli Godwin and Zadie Walker; and his brother James Garley Barnes of Cary. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
