He was predeceased by: his father James David; his brother John David Massengill; and his sister-in-law Bonnie Massengill. He is survived by: his wife Kaye T. Massengill; his children, Jimmy Nelson Massengill, Jr. of Benson, Suzanne Beasley (Scott) of Benson, Karla Allen (Travis) of Benson and Brian Massengill (Angela) of Benson; his grandchildren, Kayla Allen (Chris McIntosh), Cody Allen, Trey Massengill, Cameron Massengill, Hannah Beasley and Tyler Beasley; his siblings, Ann Massengill Ortiz (Francisco "Paco") of Benson and Tony Massengill of Benson; and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Daniels (Bill) of Benson and Judy Massengill of Cary. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
