He was predeceased by: his mother Myrtle Blackmon Byrd; and his brother Richie "Robin" Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Tracey Johnson Byrd; his daughter Kristen Byrd; his father Claude Byrd, Jr.; his sister-in-law Freda Byrd; his nieces, Michelle Williams (Michael) and Kimberly Moore (Brandon); his great-nephews, Austin Williams and Carter Moore; and his pet Layla.
