He was predeceased by: his father Nathan A. Stanley; and his brothers, Nathan, Buster, Elbert and Thomas Stanley.
He is survived by: his wife Rachel Stanley of Benson; his children, Johnny W. Stanley of Four Oaks, Janet Carr of Newton Grove and Wanda Stanley of Benson; his brothers, Ledford Stanley of Benson, Dennis Stanley of Surf City, Donald Stanley of Four Oaks and Danny Stanley of Holly Ridge; and his grandchildren, Michael Stanley, Jessica Higgins (Derrick), Tylee Cottle, Kristin Batts (Corey) and Jonathan Flowers (Stephanie). He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
