It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Scott Byrd (Benson, North Carolina), who passed away on August 8, 2022, at the age of 48, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Dianne Wood Byrd; and his grandparents, Eddie Byrd, Iva Byrd, Lee Junior Wood and Irene Wood.

He is survived by: his father Pete Byrd; his sisters, Shannon Austin (Jay) and Tina Barbee (Todd); his nieces and nephews, Madison Barbee, Carmen Barbee, Dillon Austin, Kelsey, Riley Austin and Lauren; and his friend Pete Byrd. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
