He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Bess Causby; his grandparents, Lula Mae Bess and Forest Bess; and his aunt Polly Bess Hallman. He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Griffis (Randy) and Michelle Causby (Manda); his grandchildren, Roger Meadows (Kelli), Montana Johnson, Brittany Johnson (James), Heath Griffis (Shanna) and Heather Griffis (Jamie); and his great grandchildren, Rayleigh, Cayden and Haven.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Greene Funeral Service South Chapel (1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
