He is survived by: his wife Virginia "Jenny" Thompson; his children, Billy Gerald Thompson Jr. "BJ" (Dana) and Sherry Thompson; his grandchildren, Amber Gwynn (William), Tyler Rodriguez (Harper), Justin Thompson and Ashlee Thompson; his great grandchildren, Kendall Lanier, Jackson Lanier, Coleman Gwynn, Lawton Gwynn and Sawyer Reign Stephen; his siblings, Bonnie Melton (Roy Lee) and Bobby Thompson; his close friends, Danny Brinson and Geraldine Tyndall; and his friends, Anthony "Ant" Humphrey and Teresa Powell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
