She was predeceased by: her parents, William A. Brown and Kathleen Hair Brown; her husband Mac Carter; her son Ricky Carter; her granddaughter Crystal Rice; her great grandchild Chelsey Carter; and her siblings, Earl Brown, William Brown, Worth Brown and Betty George.
She is survived by: her children, Gerry Carter (Patty) of Oak Island, Karen Murray (William Murray) of Clement and Lisa Murphy (Ricky Murphy) of Richlands; and her sister Jeanette Brown. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stedman Church of God of Prophecy (5371 NC-210, Stedman, NC 28391). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
