She was predeceased by: her parents, Baitie Thigpen and Dessie Thigpen; her husband Alfred Basden; her siblings, Donald Thigpen, Lidavay Thigpen, Jerrell Thigpen (Reba), Shirley Murphy (Aubrey) and Evelyn Basden (Junior); her sister-in-law Juanita Thigpen; and her son-in-law Mike Riley.
She is survived by: her children, Marlette Riley, William Basden (Lisa) and Darrell Basden (Staci); her grandchildren, James Riley (Deanna), Davis Basden (Caison) and Darci Basden; her great grandchildren, Haidynn, Weslynn, Lawson Riley and Tatum Basden; and her sister-in-law Irene Basden. She is also survived by extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Serenity Funeral Home (1100 NC-41, Beulaville, NC 28518). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
