He was predeceased by : his parents, Lonnie Vale and Minnie Edward Lamonds Lynthacum. He is survived by : his wife Barbara Burns Lynthacum; and his children, Melissa Vankooten Green and Richard M. Lynthacum (Zack) of Raleigh. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
