He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Schlerf and Elizabeth Schlerf; and his brother Paul Schlerf. He is survived by: his wife Betty of Black Mountain; his children, Pamela Harshey (Keith) of Black Mountain and Mike Schlerf of Asheville; his grandsons, Andrew (Kristen), Tyler (Alejandra) and Matthew Harshey; and his great grandchild Hudson.
