It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary Patterson of Black Mountain, North Carolina, who passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Audrey M. Patterson and A. Harold Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Patterson; his daughter Cati Harris (Chuck); his granddaughter Jordan Ballard (Brayden Phillips); his great grandchild Braxton Lee Burnett; his siblings, Sherri Stansell (B. J. Stansell) and Jeff Patterson (Vickie Patterson); his niece Jessie Stansell; his great-niece Kaitlyn Felder (Nic); his nephew Josh DeGhetto (Sam); and his great-niece Jameece Metcalf (Richard). He is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Swannanoa Church of God (199 Wilson Ave, Swannanoa, NC 28778). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 14th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Swannanoa Church of God, honoring Gary's lifelong devotion to his church and his faith.
