She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Monroe Teague and Willie Mae Price Teague; her husband Howard Burns Jr.; and her brother Dale Teague. She is survived by: her daughters, Cherry Burns of Candler, NC and Veronica Anderson (Johnnie) of Canton, NC; her sister Jackie Sue Mann (Danny "Cotton") of Candler, NC; her grandchildren, Joshua Burns (Samantha) of Candler, NC, Brittany Bridges (Garrett) of Virginia Beach, VA and Zoe Anderson (Aki) of Canton, NC; and her great grandchildren, Isla Bridges of Virginia Beach, VA, Ophelia Bridges of Virginia Beach, VA and Kaine Lewis of Candler.
A funeral service was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel (962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC 28711).
