He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth Pearl Lowe Boyd and Robert Ulric Boyd, Sr.; and his siblings, Robert, John Boyd, Elizabeth and Jayne Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Mangels Boyd; his pet Allegro; his siblings, Richard Boyd (Susan) of Beaufort, NC, Anne Frazier of Erwin, TN and David Boyd (Nancy) of Gainesville, FL; his children, Adlai Boyd II of Clearwater, FL and Rebekah Boyd of Shelburne Falls, MA; his grandchildren, Eleanora Boyd-Owens of Denver, CO and Nathaniel Boyd-Owens of Erving, MA; his son John Boyd; his daughter-in-law Lisette Bustamante; his grandchildren, Roen of Marietta, GA and Reya Boyd of Marietta, GA; his stepson Peter Salvucci of Istanbul; his stepgranddaughter Trista Salvucci of Asheville, NC.; his former wives, Laura Huff and Sandra Pelzel; Barbara Mangels of Black Mountain, NC. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Adlai's memory can be offered to the Asheville Area Piano Forum, the Asheville Choral Society, the Asheville Humane Society, or Maryville College.
