He was predeceased by : his parents, Sidney William Butler II and Sarah Margaret Baxter; his brother Johnny Alexander Lindsey; his grandparents, William Hall Lindsey and Sarah Pearson Lindsey; and his uncles, Allen Eugene Lindsey, Benny Lee Lindsey, William Hall Lindsey and Charles Ray Lindsey.

He is survived by : his child Ijuana S. Butler of Raliegh; his brothers, Keith R. Butler Sr. and James A. Butler; his granddaughters, Tashiyah S. Butler, Temazia A. Butler, Tomarah L. Butler, Tehya Y. Jones and Teagan J. Jones; his uncle James "Tody" Lindsey; his aunts, Yvonne Lindsey and Sheila Lindsey; his niece Ajouli S. Walton (Julian); his nephews, Keith R. Butler Jr. (Krystal) and Jeremiah R. Butler; and his cousins, Nikeya Lindsey, Chibreia Lindsey and Antoine Lindsey.
