It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sonny Pettit (Black Mountain, North Carolina), who passed away on June 26, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Pettit and Elsie Rawson Pettit. He is survived by: his children, Greg Pettit, Janelle Weatherman (Bryan), Colton Pettit (Cayley) and Tawney Harvell (Will); his grandchildren, Brittany, Marshall, Kaden, Jacob, Jaxon, Cason, Hayden, Emma and Isaiah; his great grandchild Isla; his stepmother Virginia Ferreira; his sisters, Nita Johnson (Doug) and Stacey Hannon; his former wife Martha Hewitt (Jim); and his cousin Mark Pettit.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery Chapel (962 Old Hwy 70 E, Black Mountain, NC 28711).
