We bid farewell to Sylvia Carpenter of Black Mountain, North Carolina, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 21, 2025 at the age of 81. Sylvia touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Majorie Stepp and Lee High; her husband James Thomas Carpenter; her son Thomas Carpenter; her grandmother Lizzie Stepp; her siblings, Robert Stepp and Joanna Burris; and her son-in-law Sidney Butler.

She is survived by: her children, Catherine "Pinky" Butler, Martha Carpenter, Patrick Carpenter and Jasmon Carpenter; her sisters, Christine Stepp, Anne Stamey, Addie Hall (Ronnie) and Mary Burris; and her grandchildren, Ijuana Butler, Tashayla Carpenter, Aubrey Carpenter, Jayce Carpenter and Abigal Carpenter. She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of special nieces and nephews.

The laughter,the fun and togetherness was remarkable. She brought so many things to the table with her loving way through the Lord Jesus Christ.
