It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harvey McKenzie Sr. of Bladenboro, North Carolina, who passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his children, Larry McKenzie, Harvey McKenzie Jr., Katrina McKenzie, Comillia McKenzie and Shanida McKenzie; and his siblings, Virginia Mae Wooten (Delon), Barbara Wooten (Leon), Roanna Lennon, Vanesta Ruffin (Billy), Starlin McKenzie, Lonnie McKenzie (Renee), Terry McKenzie (Loretta) and Joseph McKenzie. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the D&a Funeral Services, Inc. Chapel (212 S Wilkes St, Chadbourn, NC 28431). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Olive Baptist Church (5548 Silver Spoon Rd, Whiteville, NC 28472). A burial was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery (5548 Silver Spoon Rd, Whiteville, NC 28472).
