It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Hazel Babson of Bladenboro, North Carolina, who passed away on February 5, 2026, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Woodrow Wilson Edwards; her husband Robert Earl Babson; her granddaughter Amber Paige Babson; and her sister Lois Ann Smith. She is survived by: her mother Edna Ransom Edwards; her son David Earl Babson (Rhonda) of Cerro Gordo; her granddaughter Amanda Everette (Harvey); her great grandchildren, Will McClure, Kalli McClure, Holden Everette and Beah Everette; her siblings, J. C. Edwards of Whiteville, Horace Edwards of Bladenboro, Kenneth Edwards (Bonnie) of Bladenboro, Murtice Ransom of Clarkton, Debbie Edwards (Delbert) of Bladenboro and Faye Brown (L. T.) of Bladenboro; and her brother-in-law Murphy Smith of Bladenboro. She is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Calvary Original Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
