He is survived by: his wife Lilabeth Deavers; his children, Julia Deavers and Patrick Deavers of Sylva; his siblings, Matthew "Windy" Deavers of Clayton, Gerald Thomas Deavers of Lumberton and Gwenella Ellis (Tom) of Bladenboro; and his pet Kip.
