He was predeceased by: his parents, George Edward "Ed" Shuford and Madeline Mary Davis Shuford; and his daughter Melanie Behles. He is survived by: his wife Robin Pennington Shuford; his children, Gary Shuford II (Leigh) of Charlotte, Daniel Shuford (Kim) of Atlanta, Brian Shuford (Amie) of Charlotte and Terri Evans of Shelby; and his grandchildren, Reegan, Riley, Mallory, Marley, Cooper, Maddie, Noble, Max, Brynlee and Claire.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home (846 E Stage Coach Trail, Lawndale, NC 28090, USA 28042).
