He is survived by : his wife Sandra Bowling Tyner; his stepson Bradley Cook; his brother Bob Tyner (Grace) of Whiteville, NC; his uncle Dr. Wayne Tyner (Elizabeth); his aunt Nora Townsend Laut; his nephew Dwayne Tyner (Phyllis); his nieces, Denise Hainsey (Ron) and Tammy Breeden (Patrick); and his siblings-in-law, Debbie Bowling Shivers (Steve), Lorri Bowling Shipston (Tim) and Gary Bowling (Susan).

Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mill Creek Baptist Church (1099 George II Hwy SE, Winnabow, NC 28479). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 14th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
