He was predeceased by : his parents, Owen Roger Dietz and Harriet Atkins Dietz. He is survived by : his daughter Ashley Dietz Burney (Jeffery) of Bladenboro; his former life partner Sarah Dietz of Bolton; his siblings, Cliff Dietz of Bolton and Kimberly Shaw of Durham; his niece Mikalah Elliott (Daniel) of Raleigh; and his nephew Tripp Shaw (Renee) of Durham.
