She was predeceased by: her husband Willie Johnson Jacobs; and her parents, Arthur James Freeman and Mildred Bernice Patrick Freeman. She is survived by: her children, Areda Faye Rogers (Edward), Stephanie Sue Jacobs (Henry) and Lazarus James Oxendine. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, along with a host of extended family, dear friends.
