He was predeceased by: his father Arthur Welch; his former wife Karen Townsend Welch; his wife Betty Johnson Welch; and his sister Jeanette Johnson. He is survived by: his daughter Linda Baird (Billy) of Pineville, Kentucky; his grandchildren, Blake, Brittney, Ben and Brett Ricker; his stepchildren, David Johnson (Carla), Kim Johnson and Loretta Denny (Matthew); his stepgrandchildren, Amelia, Zane Johnson, Isaiah and Elizabeth Denny; his siblings, Pat Townsend (JB) and David Welch (Marilyn); his aunt Flo Townsend of Conover; his brother-in-law Hughie Johnson; David Ricker and Theo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
