He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Gelderman and Patricia Adams; and his siblings, Martha Adam-Birtel, Dan and Richard Gelderman.

He is survived by : his wife Tammie Gelderman of Boone; his daughters, Joviona Parham of Hickory, LaShey Reid of Lebanon and Shawna LaFlamme (Joe) of Lebanon; and his sister Nancy Armstrong (Joel) of Butler, Tennessee.. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
