She was predeceased by : her parents, William Enoch and Virgie Gryder Sheffield; her husband Lewis F. Brown; and her siblings, William, Roscoe Sheffield, Christine Gendreau, Myrtle Lawson, Virginia Irene Sharp, Nancy Barbosa and Dollie Isaacs.

She is survived by : her children, Franklin Brown of Boone and Kathy Hamby (Jimmy) of Deep Gap; her grandchildren, Jordan Brown (Lindsey), Victor Hamby (Emily), Jimmy Hamby (Colby) and Alisha Woodall; her great grandchildren, Shaun Bruno, Mason Brown, James Stines, Kinsley Brown, Hannah Bruno, Amsley Hamby, Ella Hamby, Catherine Hamby, Adelaide Hamby, Kira and Olivia Beasley; and her brother-in-law Junior Brown (Earline). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
