Gaither Cooke Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gaither Cooke (Boone, North Carolina), who passed away on September 10, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Robert Clell Cook and Velma McLean Cook; his siblings, Jobe Cook, Herman Cook, Bobby Cook and Sarah Jane Cook Thompson; and his son Dwain Cooke.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Combs Wolfferts; his children, Monica Cooke Fausti (Luca), Daryl Cooke, Dave Cooke, Julia McDade, Hunter Wolfferts, Amy Wolfferts, Jeffrey Wolfferts and Shandra Wolfferts; his grandchildren, Megan Ard, Gavin Ard, Giulio Fausti, Giada Fausti, Joseph Cooke, Jacob Cooke and Sean McDade; his great grandchildren, Levi Marshall, Leighton Marshall, Teagan Marshall, Sutton Marshall, Stevie Ard, Lennon Ard, Emerson Cooke and Jameson Cooke; and his pet Lady.
