He was predeceased by: his parents, Crawford Cantrell and Mary Stepp Cantrell; his sister Dolly Cantrell; and his son William Darrin Cantrell. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Cantrell; his daughters, Evalyn Sudderth (George) of Blowing Rock and Renada Miller (Mitch) of Boone; his grandchildren, April Ramsey (Derek) of Sherrills Ford and Chip Sudderth (Audrey) of Bolivia; and his great grandchildren, Noah Schoonover, Belicia Schoonover of West End, Chase Sudderth of Bolivia, Eliza Sudderth of Bolivia, Aidan Sudderth of Bolivia, Imogene Sudderth of Bolivia and Jax Ramsey of Sherrills Ford.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
