He is survived by: his wife Kathy Starnes Cook; his children, James Cook of Granite Falls, Brian Cook (Chonda) of Lenoir, Dan Cook (Jennifer) of Deep Gap and Rachel Cook Bahlke (Tim) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Jamie Cook, Brittany Watson (Cody), Trace Cook, Scottie Huffman (Duncan), Ali Sloan (James), Bailey Cook, Ben Cook and Jacob Bahlke; and his great grandchildren, Junne, James, Jaxson Cook, Gabe Rosenbaum, Gus Watson and Emmett Sloan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church (169 Cornerstone Ln, Deep Gap, NC 28618). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
