Janet Auten Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Janet Auten (Boone, North Carolina). Janet, born on July 23, 1935, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Houck and Connie Dickson Houck; her sisters, Julia Dawn Houck and Emily Marie Houck; and her husband Franklin Oliver Auten.

She is survived by: her sister Greta Houck Moretz; her brother-in-law Warren; her niece Emily Moretz Wells (Ben); her great-nieces, Adelaide and Clara; her great-nephew Wyatt; her nephew Derek Warren Moretz (Caroline); her great-niece Olivia; her great-nephew Leland; her nephew Johnathan Scott Moretz (Susan); and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Briggs and Baker.

In honor of Janet Sue's generous spirit, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse World Medical Mission or to the Watauga County Humane Society.
