He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Rex Wilson West and Ella Mae Foster West; his wife Ruby Hartley West; his daughters, Kandy West-Taylor (Randy) of Boone, Kathy Norville (Scott) of Greer, SC, Kimberly Via (Gary) of Lewisville and Katie Every (Collin) of Lewisville; his granddaughters, Tabatha Taylor Wilcox (Scott), Jordan Taylor Parkinson (Dylan), Lindsay, Laney Norville, Briana Via and Courtney Every; his stepgrandsons, Jeremy Via and Kevin Via (Marley); his great grandchildren, Andin, Rylie and Ellarie Wilcox; his sister Ann Cook (Bob) of Boone; his son Kelly Gray West; and his brother Jerry West. He was also cherished by his six grandchildren or three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers and in memory of Jim West, the family suggests memorials to a special fund being established and will be announced.
