He was predeceased by: his parents, W. Clinton Lewis and Dora Culler Lewis; and his siblings, Joseph Clinton Lewis and Sandra Elizabeth Ward. He is survived by: his wife Anna Elisabeth Schopf Lewis; his children, Deborah Ann Lewis Graham (Craig) of Oveido, Brenda Lewis Brittain (Roger) of Boone and John F. Lewis, Jr. (Christy) of Charlotte; his stepson Robert Schopf of Grafenau, Germany.; his siblings, Jean Blizzard of Winston-Salem, Ellen Grunewald of Leesburg, Virginia., William Lewis of Vero Beach and Walter Lewis of Boone; his grandchildren, Kathryn Graham, Quinton Ross Lewis, Ethan Lewis, Owen Joseph Lewis, Ava Elisabeth Lewis, Claudia Schmidts and Sandra Simmet; his stepgrandsons, Kyle and Kurt Graham; and his friends, Johnny Councill and Joey Miller.
