He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Sigmon Smyre Sr. and Daisy Mae Webb Smyre; his wife Lucy Ellen Carpenter Smyre; and his siblings, Patricia Huffine, Joann Bescherer and Paul Smyre Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Major John Chadwick Smyre (Natalie) of Anchorage and Ashley Smyre of Winston Salem; his grandchildren, Mai Graham, Joe Budig, Nick Budig and Drew Budig; his great grandchild Lena Budig; and his brother Buck Smyre. He is also survived by his family, his church family, and the countless friends.
