It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kate Hardin (Boone, North Carolina), who passed away on July 19, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid Kate farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Kate is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Mashburn and Anne Mashburn; and her husband Lester. She is survived by: her daughters, Lynne Hardin of Boone, NC and Betsy Norvell (Neal) of Davidson, NC; and her grandsons, Matt Lee of Boone, NC and Sam Norvell of Charlotte, NC..
