He is survived by: his wife Betty Storie Hayes; his daughter Rebekah Dalene Hayes; his sister Carolyn Farthing; his sister-in-law Brenda Combs of Boone; and his pets, Gracie and Bailey. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
