He is survived by: his wife Elaine Phillips of Boone, NC; his stepsons, Douglas Phillips of Fleetwood, NC and Jeremy Phillips of Moyok, NC; his siblings-in-law, Sue Hicks (Joe) and Leslie Morgan (Shirley); his cousin Naomi Bays of Elizabethon, TN; and his grandsons, Alexander of Moyok, NC., Matthew of Moyok, NC. and William Phillips of Moyok, NC..
