He was predeceased by : his parents, Arthur Finley and Edna Faye Johnson Moody; and his brothers-in-law, Dean Braswell and Earl May. He is survived by : his wife Patsy Fox Moody; his children, Steven Moody (Amy) of Zionville and Brenda Henson (Jeff) of Vilas; his granddaughters, Amber Studstrup (Kristian), Robin Carter (Richard) and Addison Moody; his great grandchildren, Hunter Studstrup, Maya and Ava Carter; his siblings, Dean Moody (Jennie) of Vilas, Carl Moody (Lennis) of Vilas, A. R. Moody (Pansy) of Vilas, Ivan Moody of Vilas, Bernice Braswell of Vilas, Ruth May of Vilas, Carolyn Wilson (Dale) of Vilas and Judy McNamee (Don) of Zionville; and his friends, April and Barnes. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Mountain Dale Baptist Church (521 Bamboo Heights, Boone, NC 28607).
