With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lila Rae Young (Boone, North Carolina), born in Knoxville, Tennessee, who passed away on January 4, 2024 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Dillard Henry and Grace Olive Smith (Reed); her husband Thomas Wesley Young; and her siblings, Whitney, Everett, Tilman, Joyce Manuel, Madelyn Walden, Elaine Martin, Jane Breeden, Alice Grossnickle and Sharon Smith.
She is survived by : her siblings, Patricia Neuner (Smith), Donald and Calvin Smith; her son Lieutenant Colonel Dillard Wesley (Retired); her grandchildren, Mary Grace Young and Owen Wesley Young; and her stepchildren, Linda Lou (Young), Resh (Bobby), Thomas Wesley Young, II and Philip Lee Young. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
