He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Brown and Addie Dancy Brown; his wife Mary Watson Brown; and his sisters, Mary Jo Cook and Beulah Watson.

He is survived by: his sons, Johnny Brown of Cameron, Eric Brown of Taylorsville and Phillip Brown (Melissa) of Boone; his grandchildren, Tyler Dustin Miller, Caitlin Nicole Sealey-Brown, Lauren Nicole Sealey-Brown, Katelyn Joyce Brown, Matthew Garrett Brown, Jeffery Wayne Brown, Joshua Ryan Brown and Hannah Lea Raines (Trace); and his siblings, Wiley Brown of Boone, Shirley Arney, Ruby Bryan and Loye Greer. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
