She was predeceased by : her parents, Charlie Moore and Cora Smith Moore; her husband Robert Townsend; her sons, Bobby and Michael Randall Townsend; and her siblings, Earl, Clayton, Chad, Dan, Josie, Lucille and Irene.

She is survived by : her sons, Charlie Stephen Townsend (Joanna) of Gastonia and Danny Lee Townsend (Cindy) of Blowing Rock; her grandchildren, Eddie Townsend (Amy) and Ellen Shook (Glenn) of Deep Gap; her great grandchildren, Hunter Shook (Rachel), Brahm Townsend and Hayla Shook; her siblings, Dean Moore (Frances) of Hot Springs and Lettie Barrette of Charlotte; and her daughter-in-law Sabra Townsend.
