As we bid adieu to Raleigh's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Raleigh has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Washington Welborn and Vivian Wood Welborn; and his brother Mack Welborn. He is survived by: his wife Gayle Wright Welborn; his daughter Michelle Welborn Arrington (Michael); his granddaughter Taylor Lucille Arrington; and his siblings, Lucille McGuire (Michael), Rachel Hill (Jim), David Welborn (Kris) and John Welborn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Austin Barnes Funeral Home (194 Queen St, Boone, NC 28607).
