He was predeceased by: his parents, Brady Cox and Hattie Cox; his sister Valeria White (Earl); and his daughters, Barbara Anita Cox and Anita Marie Cowen.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Danner Cox; his sons, Ronnie (Sharon) and Steve (Brenda); his brother James (Linda Cox) of Deep Gap; and his son-in-law Kent Cowen. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
