It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen Waits of Boone, North Carolina, born in Gainesville, Florida, who passed away on February 19, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Lewie Waits and Eloise Waits of Cherryville, NC; and his grandparents, Cheever, Sue Caswell of New Hampshire, Harvey and Sue Waits of Florida.

He is survived by : his children, Tara Manjarres of Lincolnton, NC, Stephen Glen Waits II (Mira) of Boone, NC and Menta Finger (Kelcy) of Sherrills Ford, NC.; his sisters, Nancy Self (Jim) of Cherryville, NC, Jo Waits (Thad) of Cocoa Beach, FL and Becky Sain of Cherryville, NC.; and his grandchildren, Jose Emilio "EJ" Manjarres of Lincolnton, NC, Madaline, Makayla Finger of Sherrills Ford, NC, Audrey and Simone Waits of Boone, NC..

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 5th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Steve's (414 E Water St, Lincolnton, NC 28092).
