It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steve Gray Stanbery of Boone, North Carolina, who passed away on November 27, 2021, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Wilburn and Vanna Miller Stanbery; his former wife Jean Hicks Stanbery; his sister Edith Stanbery Schieder; and his close friend Bill Foltz.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Tester Stanbery; his son Wayne Stanbery (Marty) of Lexington, NC; his grandson Stephen Stanbery (Lindsey); his great grandchildren, Sloane of Greensboro, NC and Clark Stanbery of Greensboro, NC; his sisters, June Parks of Boone, Rosella Freeman of Springfield, MO, Shirley Smith of Granite Falls, NC and Glenna Hollar (A. C.) of Boone; Alvin Stanbery (Betty Jo) of Boone. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
