He was predeceased by: his parents, Stewart B. Brown, Sr. and Annie Vines Brown; his former wives, Sallie Norris Brown and Frances Hodges Brown; and his siblings, Carson, Vaughn, Lewis and Martha Jean Greene.
He is survived by: his wife Earline Brown; his children, Barbara Overby (John) of Millers Creek, NC, Susan Brown of Boone, NC and Ronald Brown (Jane Rowe) of New Britain, CT.; his grandchildren, Josh Overby (Jennifer) of Moravian Falls, NC, Kendall Huffman (Brian) of Wilkesboro, NC, Hawley Brown of New York City and Lydia Brown of New York City; his great grandchildren, Corban, Branton, Micah, Kenan, Sallie Huffman, Natalie, Elijah and Jaden Overby; his stepson Randy Townsend of Boone; his stepgranddaughter Caitlin Fansler (John) of King, NC; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Briella and Campbell.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Rutherwood Baptist Church (142 Don Hayes Rd, Boone, NC 28607). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
