He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harvey and Pernell Arney Taylor; his son Gregory Ernest Taylor; his siblings, Ned Taylor and Tobotha Haydt; the mother of his children Elizabeth Taylor Cloniger; and his former wife Pat Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Cornett Deal; his sister Rebecca Taylor Ritch (James) of Lenoir; his brother-in-law George Haydt of Virginia; his children, Sylvia Taylor Wilson (Eddie) of Granite Falls, Sheryl Taylor James (Craig) of Bethania, NC, Ronnie Taylor (Martha) of Granite Falls and Eddie Taylor (Becky) of Happy Valley; his stepdaughters, Connie Gioscio (Frank) of Boone, Gail Howe (Alan) of Foscoe and Melissa Norris of Vilas; Clint, Ruth Cornett, Dale, Martin Cornett and Dawn Bradley. He is also survived by six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and special friends.
